Good Morning readers
I had a surprise arrive in the post this week, an interesting one and a little embarrassing, but it did make me laugh. Let me start back in 2005, when Pat and I first got together, we had our first date in September and then my birthday was in the October. Well Pat wasn’t around for my birthday due to a previous commitment, but he did give me a birthday present which was a little booklet that he had produced called Pats Tours which described a four day trip to Granada that we would be taking in early November. It was a great holiday and I got to go somewhere that I had wanted to visit for a very long time – The Alhambra. We actually went twice over our four day trip.
Anyway throughout this booklet I wrote a few notes about what we had done during the day, basically as an aide memoire. So early in the following year one of my friends decides that she and her boyfriend would like to go to Granada so I sent her my booklet for the info of where we stayed and things to do. Roll on this week, my friend moved house approximately four years ago, and is still unpacking her boxes! (That is a different story) but in her unpacking found my booklet so she popped it in the post to me. That arrived this week, so nine years after our trip I got my booklet back with my notes. It was great to flip though and see what we did on certain days and read the notes, until I discovered that my notes were perhaps a little more personal than I had realised when I had lent my booklet out. So it did make both Pat and me laugh when I read my notes and embarrassed me a little that I had shared that amount of information with a friend. But it was really nice to have those memories of my first holiday with Pat refreshed. Remembering the trip to Granada also inspired me as to what I would paint this week at art class and I’m now part way through a painting of The Alhambra.
To continue the holiday note, I’ve apparently had 4,001 reads on Tripadvisor – so I guess that my reviews are currently better read than my blog.
Moving on with the week, Pat and I went for a walk over to our neighbours lake to take some autumn photos. The weather is really starting to get cold here (the heating is on) and the trees are still changing colour. We have decided that we need to do some more photos in a couple of weeks, when there will be even more colour and change.
And lastly Pat had an unfortunate incident with his hair clipper this week. He decided that he would tidy up his hair without realising that the clippers were set to their lowest setting. He came down stairs to breakfast looking like someone had attacked him. I have since had to run the clippers over his entire head and it really does look like he has a buzz cut! Good thing I also found his winter hat this week.
So until next week.
